The Association of Bridging Professionals (AOBP) showcased its first Northern Broker Event on Tuesday evening, and those who attended were “extremely positive” about the industry gathering.

Held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester, the event was sponsored by specialist lenders Together, Funding 365, Affirmative Finance, Hope Capital, United Trust Bank and Masthaven, who presented and exhibited their services to a packed audience.

David Golder of SimplyBiz also gave a talk on FCA applications and the importance of acting now rather than later.

“It was great to attend the first AOBP Northern Broker Event and receive a warm welcome from delegates at this very well attended conference,” David commented.

“It is clear that members feel a strong affinity with the AOBP and intend to take action to preserve and grow their businesses under the new regulatory regime.”

Exhibitors at the event

Henry Audley-Charles, Senior Business Development Manager at Everline, said although this was the first AOBP event he had been to, it would definitely not be his last.

“The event was really well organised and the chair held it together seamlessly with a good mix of professionalism and humour,” Henry said.

Henry explained that the attendees were all very professional, friendly and receptive.

“I’m looking forward to the next one!”

Attendees at the sold out event

Rob Jupp, Chairman of the AOBP and CEO of specialist distributor Brightstar Financial, also agreed that the event had been a success.

‘It was pleasing to see our inaugural Northern Broker event sold out with standing room only,” Rob commented.

“As a national trade association it’s important we are exactly that, and feedback we have received so far has been extremely positive.”
