Cambridge & Counties expands lending team

Challenger bank Cambridge & Counties has boosted its lending team with two new appointments to its northern office in Sheffield.

Andrew Ward joins as business development manager following a 22-year spell at the Co-op Bank and will now be responsible for building on Cambridge & Counties’ presence in the North West.

Meanwhile, Sharon Porter brings over 30 years of experience to the position of business development officer, having previously served at both Royal Bank of Scotland and Yorkshire Bank.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: “I’m planning to build on Cambridge & Counties’ existing relationships with property customers, professionals and finance brokers, bringing the bank’s ‘can-do’ approach to property lending in what is a very buoyant market.”

Cambridge & Counties’ northern lending team has now doubled in size since the summer.

Carl Ashley, director of business development at Cambridge & Counties, added: “Growing the team with such experienced and skilled property lenders … will enable us to provide our straightforward property-lending solutions to even more property borrowers, either directly or through the bank’s commercial broker network”.

Launched in 2014, the bank’s Sheffield office has now advanced over £150m.
