Ex-Nationwide head joins new bridging lender as MD

City of London Group PLC (COLG) has revealed that Mark Bampton (pictured above) has joined new bridging lender Property & Funding Solutions (PFS) as managing director.

London-based PFS – which is a wholly owned subsidiary of COLG – launched in early April and provides commercial bridging, refurbishment and development loans.

Mark has over 30 years of SME/commercial lending and credit expertise and has held a range of senior executive roles within Nationwide Building Society’s commercial division.

He was most recently the former national head of commercial property finance at Nationwide Building Society, with overall responsibility for new lending and management of the commercial property loan book.

“I am delighted that Mark has come on board to lead PFS,” said Michael Goldstein, CEO at COLG.

“He has a wealth of experience in the SME and commercial lending space and will be a huge asset for the company.

“Mark has displayed a track record of integrity and unwavering energy which links in perfectly with the ethos of PFS, a company that evolves with its clients and nurtures its business relationships by building trust with a responsive and simple model.”

Mark explained that many businesses were frustrated by lenders which still had cumbersome systems with an impersonal service that didn’t cater to the needs of their customers.

“We will be offering something different.

“By working with PFS, you will have access to our senior decision makers and the support needed to finance your growth.”

PFS aims to originate bridging and short-term, property-backed secured lending solutions in the UK that are competitive on terms, features and price.

It offers commercial bridging loans at up to 70% LTV and loans on residential property for investment or trading purposes at up to 75% LTV.

The company’s lending sweet spot is between £100,000 and £1m but can lend upwards on a case-by-case basis.

Lending predominantly against good quality commercial and residential property in England and Wales, its objective is to be the specialist lender of choice among the prominent brokers.

Brokers can get in touch with Mark at [email protected] for information about its product sheet.
