Bibby appoints managing director for export finance

Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Jim Davis (pictured above) as managing director for export finance.

Joining Bibby from Yorkshire Bank in 2011, Jim became head of sales for the West Midlands in 2013 and played an instrumental role in the opening of Bibby’s West Midlands business centre in 2014.

He has over 25 years of experience in financial services, having held a variety of commercial finance roles at HSBC and Yorkshire Bank, where he specialised in asset-based lending and invoice finance.

“While exporting presents fantastic opportunities for businesses to grow, international trade brings with it challenges relating to extended payment terms and complexities surrounding selling goods overseas,” said Jim.

“Our export finance team help SMEs to overcome these challenges, providing certainty of payment, upfront payment against overseas invoices and access to a team of export specialists.

“With the UK’s departure from the EU on the horizon, more than ever SMEs need expert support.

“In addition to providing valuable support for existing exporters, we want to be able to help those businesses new to international trade to uncover growth opportunities overseas.

“I look forward to supporting the growth of thousands of UK SMEs in my new role.”

Kash Ahmad, managing director of specialist products at BFS, added: “Throughout his time with BFS, Jim has put both clients and colleagues at the heart of his leadership, and this has led to fantastic results, time and time again.

“I’m fully confident that Jim will continue this trend in his new role, helping to further enhance the support we provide to SMEs trading overseas.”
