Reward Finance supports hotel's growth plans

SME funder Reward Finance Group has provided £100,000 to the Fairways Hotel (pictured above) in Porthcawl, Bridgend, to help the latter double the number of weddings it can host.

The 19-bedroom hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment, including the addition of a new orangery.

It recently obtained a wedding licence, enabling it to provide a complete wedding venue.

David Godbeer, managing director of the Fairways Hotel, said: “Situated on the heritage coast overlooking the Bristol Channel, we have arguably the best views in Porthcawl.

“We therefore wanted the facilities to match our stunning location, hence the huge investment we have made in refurbishing the hotel.

“The granting of the wedding licence helped to complete the package.

“Bringing the three aspects together has really boosted the weddings bookings and we are definitely on target to achieve our ambitious plans.”

To help secure the funding, the hotel used business consultancy Liquidity Club to help source the finance.

“The hotel needed an injection of cash that many ‘off the shelf’ finance providers would not be able to accommodate,” said Will Mason, associate director at Liquidity Club.

“I therefore contacted Reward and following a visit to the hotel by its business development manager, Parisa Lian, a facility was put in place within a few days with the right repayment plan.”

Parisa added: “David and his son James really have invested a great deal of time and money in maximising the huge potential of the Fairways Hotel.

“Having stayed there myself, I was really impressed with the results.

“With their drive and enthusiasm – and the increase in the business, which is ahead of target – we had no hesitation in providing them with the funds to help make the hotel a huge success.”
