John has over 30 years of experience in finance having previously held senior roles within the industry, including Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, GE Capital Bank and Amicus Finance.
Commenting on the appointment, Jon Wilkinson, founder and chairman at Haydock Finance, said that this planned change in leadership would build on the cornerstones of the Haydock strategy.

“John is a highly experienced individual with a proven track record of strategic planning and executing successful strategies to deliver growth and diversification.”
At the start of 2018, it was announced that certain investment funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC, signed an agreement to acquire the majority shareholding in Haydock, investing alongside the SME asset finance provider’s founder and chairman.
During 2018, Haydock delivered record new business levels and became an approved lender under the Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme operated by the British Business Bank.
In 2016, Haydock secured a £25m block discounting facility from British Business Investments, the commercial arm of the British Business Bank, which it used to help grow its asset finance division.
John said that it was an exciting time to be joining Haydock.
