Assetz Capital appoints two new regional directors

P2P lender Assetz Capital has appointed two regional directors as it looks to further expand its lending in Scotland.

Duncan Cassidy (pictured above) has been made a relationship director for Scotland, having previously worked within the credit management team at Assetz Capital.

He will focus on constructing facilities for SMEs from a wide range of sectors across Scotland.

Prior to joining Assetz Capital, Duncan was a credit partner at Santander for three years, where he specialised in providing growth finance for care home groups.

Rory Whaling (pictured above) has joined Assetz Capital as a relationship director and will be based in the UK-North team with Duncan.

Rory has spent the past 17 years in the banking industry covering various finance roles in the corporate space.

In his previous roles, Rory was responsible for tailoring a wide variety of financial solutions for his clients.

The UK-North team will be headed up by regional director John Hewitt.

“The appetite for alternative finance remains high in Scotland, as well as the wider North of the UK,” said John.

“In order to meet this demand, we were keen to expand our team in the region, which will in turn allow us to serve a greater number of businesses and property developers.

“Rory and Duncan are excellent additions to our growing team.

“Both are experienced individuals with excellent track records, and I’m confident they will support us in our mission to become the leading provider of P2P finance in Scotland and the North of England.”
