LendInvest reports record month for BTL applications

LendInvest celebrated a record month for signed BTL applications in January 2019.

The specialist property finance lender reported 428 applications during the month, totalling £100m in value.

Ian Boden, sales director at LendInvest (pictured above), said: “Kicking off what is lined up to be another huge year for the business with a record month for BTL applications is brilliant, and could not have been achieved without the work that the loan operations team put in on a day-to-day basis.”

LendInvest’s lending operations team — which had 21 employees in February 2018 — now has a headcount of 37 people.

The growth was driven by both internal promotions and external recruitment.

With regard to the external hires, Jack Broadbridge has been appointed as a senior bridging underwriter.

He joins from Shawbrook where he served as a lending manager.

Kwok Tao Chan has also moved to LendInvest from Atom Bank as a senior BTL underwriter.

Among the internal promotions is Gareth Thomas, who went from senior underwriter to BTL team leader.

He will now help the team manage its pipeline, sign cases off, allocate new cases to underwriters and assist with training.

Ian added: “Our escalation in hires for this team has moved in direct correlation with the demand we receive for our product — a demand that we only see increasing as we move further into 2019.”

Since launching in 2008, LendInvest has lent over £1.7bn.
