ThinCats expands London team with new director of regional business development

ThinCats has appointed Stuart Thompson (pictured above) as director of regional business development as part of the expansion of the fintech SME lender’s London team.

In his new role, Stuart will have responsibility for originating and structuring lending facilities for growing SMEs across London.

Stuart has more than 10 years of experience working with SMEs in business banking, during which he has served at Barclays Corporate Finance, RBS and Clydesdale Bank.

He has specialised in providing finance to support transactions such as management buyouts, acquisitions, growth finance and business refinancing.

Stuart said: “Having spent my whole career to date working for high street banks, I’ve seen first-hand how banks have limited their appetite for SME cash flow lending, ignoring those ambitious SMEs that require finance to grow.

“With a pragmatic approach to lending and ability to make quick decisions, ThinCats is well positioned as an alternative lender to support management teams in what is considered an underserved SME market.”
