Together appoints ex-banker to advise its commercial board

Together has named banking heavyweight Simon Raine (pictured above) as an adviser to its board.

He is set to play a crucial role in advising board members responsible for the business’s corporate and commercial lending.

Simon will be supporting clients, including wealth managers, developers, investors and entrepreneurs, as Together bolsters its commercial and corporate distribution channels.

“I’m really excited to be joining at a time when Together is realising its ambitious growth plans, as I have known and admired the business for a long time,” commented Simon.

“The group has an enviable history in the specialist lending industry and has become well-respected for its innovative financial products and its commitment to providing the best possible service for its clients.”

Simon — who is a director at specialist business advisers FRP Advisory and a board adviser at BBS Law Ltd and Bridge Insurance Brokers Ltd — has over 35 years of experience in financial services.

He joins from Handelsbanken, where he helped to develop its business across northern England and Scotland.

Marc Goldberg, commercial CEO at Together, added that the lender was delighted to welcome Simon as a board adviser.

“His experience speaks for itself and he has a wealth of knowledge to help us promote and enhance the core strengths of the business to new introducers and clients.”

Together — which has a team of almost 800 employees based at its HQ in Cheadle, south Manchester — recently announced its loan book had reached £3.74bn in the quarter to March 31st 2019.
