Maximum LTV tops bridging search criteria

Maximum LTV was the most searched for criteria in the bridging sector in May, according to Knowledge Bank’s criteria activity tracker.

Regulated bridging — which topped the category in April — has moved down to second place, with maximum term and maximum loan in third and fourth place respectively.

In the buy-to-let sector, lending to limited companies remained top, with first-time landlords holding on to second place.

Semi-commercial properties topped the commercial category.

“I believe that it is now imperative that brokers perform a criteria search prior to product sourcing so that the borrower knows the products they actually qualify for,” said Nicola Firth, CEO at Knowledge Bank (pictured above).

“Additionally, with ever-increasing — and ever-changing — regulation, it is crucial that brokers can defend their product selection when it is based on criteria restrictions and not price.”
