Adverse credit re-enters top five bridging searches

Searches for adverse credit have returned to the top five of Knowledge Bank’s latest criteria search index in the bridging category.

Adverse credit — which was last in the top five for bridging in April — was the third-most searched for category during June.

Regulated bridging has retaken the top spot in bridging — rising from second in May — while semi-commercial properties has been replaced at the top in the commercial category by commercial investment mortgages.

In the BTL sector, lending to limited companies has also been replaced by first-time landlord, which was second in May.

“The BTL sector has taken a few punches over recent years with the removal of tax incentives, the ability to charge fees and even lenders going into administration,” said Nicola Firth, CEO at Knowledge Bank (pictured above).

“However, this is a resilient market and with competitive interest rates, and a wide product selection, potential landlords are asking brokers to find them a home for their loan requirements.”
