The alternative finance provider for UK SMEs revealed that its next stage of growth will focus on providing a wider range of services.
ELITE is an offering for scale-ups across Europe and beyond which provides a training programme and access to the business and financial community.
In an exclusive interview with Bridging & Commercial, John Davies, executive chairman at JLG Group (pictured above), said: “One of the major benefits [of joining the programme] will be sitting alongside and working with other companies that are focused on and experienced in creating well-run, customer-centric businesses.
“The ELITE programme will help us assess [other] options and other companies’ experiences.

“I’m also anticipating that there will be tremendous benefits from working with companies outside our normal sphere of operations — how they are using technology [and] listening to their customers etc.
“I’ve always believed that, as a business, you have to continue to learn and have the ability to adapt.”
John also stated that many of the companies it will be working alongside have successfully exported their business model to other countries, which he describes as “not an easy thing to do”.
“Over the past seven years, we have invested heavily in a proprietary technology platform called PropensityPlus, a scoring system that uses technology to gain insight into the propensity for both directors and their businesses to be successful.
“The plus then comes from highly experienced underwriters showing a genuine interest in the customer and their business and having the knowledge to ask the right questions.
“It can only be good news that companies like ours are looking to grow and support even more UK SMEs.”
