Mantra Capital names new MD of commercial team

Mantra Capital has appointed Roger Fenwick (pictured above) as managing director of the debt advisory business's commercial team.

In his new role, Roger will oversee the team, explore new sectors and offer guidance and support to the division, while generating new business.

He will also develop partnerships with new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones.

Roger — who has been in commercial banking for over 20 years — joins Mantra Capital from Metro Bank, where he served as director of specialist sectors for over two years.

In his previous roles, he has worked closely with dedicated teams to support UK SMEs with their banking and funding requirements across a wide range of sectors, including primary healthcare, hospitality and leisure, care homes, real estate, manufacturing, and retail and wholesale.

“I joined Mantra Capital because it is a highly innovative and entrepreneurial business that has the best interests of SMEs across the UK at its heart and is always looking for the best ways to support them in achieving their goals,” said Roger.

“I am genuinely excited about being able to work alongside a great team in an innovative business that wants to help other like-minded businesses grow.”

Nick Neophytou and Nimesh Sanghrajka, joint managing directors at Mantra Capital, added: “We’ve spent the past four years building Mantra Capital to reshape and professionalise the SME debt advisory space and Roger’s appointment brings us fresh impetus as we head into 2020 and beyond.

“Roger brings with him a high level of client-facing and leadership experience that is difficult to find in today’s market.”

His experience will enable the company to explore new sectors and build stronger, more sustainable teams that can help businesses of different shapes and sizes with their funding and structuring needs.

“We can’t wait for Roger to start with us and we look forward to creating new avenues to continue the growth of Mantra Capital.”
