Shawbrook bolsters structured finance arm with new director

Shawbrook Bank has expanded its structured finance division following the appointment of Abhishek Girdhar (pictured above) as a director within its wholesale finance team.

In his new role, Abhishek will focus on the origination, structuring and execution of debt transactions for alternative finance clients in core sectors, including property, SME, consumer, and fund finance.

Abhishek has 14 years of experience in financial services, having worked at both large banks and boutique funders.

He has held senior roles within securitisation, specialist lending and investment teams and worked with fund managers, consumer and SME lenders, IFAs and brokers, in addition to film studios and Premier League clubs looking for player transfer funding.

“Having been drawn to the bank’s culture and the team’s reputation, their focus on structured lending to multiple sub-sectors in the specialty finance area, approach to risk, and the division’s growth plans, all added to the appeal.”

Warren Mutch, senior director for wholesale finance at Shawbrook, added: “Bringing someone with Abhishek’s experience on board ensures we continue to deliver a tailored facility for our clients, and we can look at further opportunities in the marketplace as well.”
