Samantha Emery

Octane hires two new BDMs, including ex-Together regional development director

Octane Capital has added Samantha Emery (pictured above) and Bethan Jones to its team as BDMs.

Both recruits will report to Mark Posniak, managing director at Octane.

Samantha joins from Together, where she was a regional development director, having previously worked at Barclays in a number of roles.

She will have a dual remit, focusing on the South East and the professional services sector, where she has extensive contacts with accountants and solicitors.

“Octane is an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking company that I’ve had on my radar for some time,” said Samantha.

“Jonathan [Samuels, founder and CEO], Mark and Matt [Smith, director of credit], are genuine disruptors in the short-term lending industry and I’m delighted to have the chance to work alongside them and help Octane continue to grow.”

“To have someone with Samantha’s experience, knowledge and contacts join our sales team is a real boost for everyone at Octane,” added Mark.

“Hiring her was a little bit unusual in that she has yet to meet most of the team face-to-face as she started during lockdown, but she’s already fitted in, albeit digitally for now, and we can’t wait to properly welcome her onboard once our office is back open.”

Bethan joins from Habito, where she was a relationship manager.

She will focus on brokers in Wales and the South West, along with Octane’s new BTL proposition, which has recently been soft launched.

“I’m delighted to be joining Octane at such an exciting point in their growth and fully intend to make our new BTL proposition a huge success,” she commented.

“The team here are so committed to service and delivery and I’m looking forward to strengthening their already excellent reputation.”

Mark stated that Bethan’s experience as a mortgage broker would “stand her in good stead with our introducers as she will have walked many miles in their shoes and knows what it takes to get deals over the line.”

In May, the specialist lender bolstered its sales and credit teams with two new hires, Chris Harrison and Shrena Patel.
