Assetz Capital, Fleet Mortgages and Harpenden Building Society have all added new members to their teams.

Assetz Capital

Assetz Capital has appointed Irene Thomas as director of lending operations, further strengthening its senior leadership team.

In her new role, Irene will lead, develop and modernise the marketplace lender’s operations by driving improvements and efficiencies across the business to deliver better outcomes for customers and colleagues.

Before joining Assetz Capital, Irene was director of commercial operations at Together.

She has over 30 years of experience in operational management and has previously held roles at Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Freedom Finance, and Advantage Home Loans.

“Assetz Capital is already an incredibly successful business with brilliant people, and yet I still see huge potential,” said Irene.

“There is opportunity for change and improvement across the business to enable us to scale quicker and more sustainably, while delivering an even better service to our borrowers and investors.

“The senior leadership team has a clear vision for the business and I'm looking forward to playing my part in shaping and delivering it.”

Stuart Law, CEO at Assetz Capital, added: “We are taking our operational management to the next level, and I’ve no doubt Irene will be a catalyst for our significant growth in 2021 and beyond.

“During a time when the economy is set to kickstart, Irene’s appointment will help us to continue delivering for SMEs and investors as we continue our journey to be the preferred lender for SMEs and SME housebuilders across the UK.”

At the beginning of 2020, Assetz Capital surpassed the £1bn lent milestone, and is now heading towards £1.5bn of lending by the summer.

Last month, it launched a new bridging product with a 0.65% interest rate to supercharge its origination.

Fleet Mortgages

Fleet Mortgages has appointed Wes Regis as a key account manager.

In his new role, he will be responsible for managing strategic partnerships with Fleet’s existing key accounts and identifying opportunities to work with new networks, clubs, and distributors.

He will work alongside Fleet’s other key account manager, Louisa Ritchie, who joined the lender in October last year.

Wes has over 16 years of experience working in the financial services sector covering a variety of roles and markets.

He worked for Barclays Bank, HH Cashflow Finance, and joins Fleet from Hodge Bank, where he was a national account manager in the Midlands/North, responsible for mortgage intermediary business development.

The specialist lender has also welcomed three new sales administration specialists — Jason Blignaut, Nicole Lawrence and Hannah Chatfield — who will work predominantly on the phones supporting advisers with their cases.

Steve Cox, chief commercial officer at Fleet Mortgages, commented: “We’re very pleased to announce the appointment of Wes as our newest recruit and the second new key account manager we have been able to bring in over the course of the last eight months.

“Clearly, key accounts are a significant priority for Fleet and we have recruited Wes to ensure they have everything they need from us and we can continue to support their activities in the BTL space.

“Our recruitment drive doesn’t stop here either; we are currently looking for a further three BDMS in the South East, central London and North West regions in order to support our heightened activity and to ensure advisers in those parts of the country have access to the best support we can offer.

“Activity levels at Fleet continue to increase and it’s highly important that we have all the resource necessary in place to maintain our excellent service standards and to continue delivering for advisers’ landlord clients.”

Harpenden Building Society

Harpenden Building Society has appointed Jacqui Turner as a BDM to provide additional support to brokers located in the North of England.

She has a background in account management and new sales development and joins the company from Marsden Building Society.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: “I have a passion for delivering positive outcomes and look forward to introducing brokers and their customers to the competitive mortgage products the society has become renowned for in the specialist lending sector.

“Never before has it been more important for brokers to integrate effective mortgage solutions that can accommodate the rapidly changing needs of an increasingly sophisticated customer base.

“Harpenden’s range of products and the methodology the society adopts with regard to manual underwriting gives a strong option for brokers wanting to secure more business.”

Craig Middleton, mortgage sales manager at Harpenden Building Society, added: “We are delighted to welcome Jacqui to our sales team.

“We have a growing reputation with brokers based in northern regions so her experience, ‘can-do’ mind set, and technical expertise will further strengthen our ability to deliver market leading mortgage products to customers throughout England and Wales.”
