Brightstar, Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) and KFS Recruitment have expanded their teams.

Brightstar

Brightstar Financial has grown its sales force by more than 40% since the start of 2021.

The additional recruitment has supported the continued growth of the firm, which secured several new network and club contracts, including new partnerships with Selina Finance and Sesame Bankhall Group’s new specialist lending panel.

Currently, Brightstar Financial is accessible to more than 75% of intermediaries through long-term arrangements.

Bradley Moore, managing director at Brightstar Financial, said: “There has never been a better time for brokers to engage with the specialist mortgage market.

“The sector was already a growing area for brokers before Covid, and the impact of the pandemic has only served to accelerate this change, creating complexity in client circumstances and opening up new opportunities for investors.

“Staying on top of all of the potential solutions across the range of specialist sectors is more than a full-time job – it’s several ones.

“But at Brightstar, we empower brokers to access these markets by leveraging our expertise and relationships, and this approach is proving increasingly popular with a rapidly growing number of brokers.

“We’re really proud to have delivered such significant growth so far in 2021 and we look forward to continuing to ramp up our proposition so that we can continue to reach more intermediaries and help more customers to access the right solution for their circumstances.”

Brightstar Financial gives brokers access to dedicated teams of experienced lending specialists with expertise in specialist residential mortgages, complex BTL, second charge mortgages, commercial, bridging and development finance.

Brokers can choose to keep ownership of the advice and harness the specialist distributor’s lender relationships, or they can choose to refer a case to Brightstar to provide the advice in return for a share of the enhanced lender proc fee.

HTB

HTB has appointed Wes Baker as a BDM for the north of England.

In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting the bank’s broker base across the Midlands and north of England, reporting directly to Marcus Dussard, sales director at HTB.

Wes has over 15 years of financial services experience and joins the specialist lender from Masthaven, where he worked as a BDM.

Prior to this, he held business development and underwriting positions at various specialist finance companies, including Evolution Money.

“I’m very pleased to be joining HTB at this exciting time in its growth story and as part of the very strong team that has been assembled to support brokers with their business,” said Wes.

“This has been my patch for many years and I’m itching to demonstrate how HTB’s approach to high-value and complex lending can help provide leverage for the unique requirements of brokers in this area.”

Marcus added: “We continue to grow and evolve the HTB offering at pace.

“Following our recent BTL product refresh and proposition enhancements, including the introduction of our new PUMA for Intermediaries Portal and revamped fast-track bridging proposition, we are experiencing exceptional demand from brokers.

“The appointment of Wes is part of our planned growth strategy and to establish dedicated support for brokers in the North.

“We bring an exceptional level of personal support to specialist lending at HTB, and recruiting the best talent to manage complex and bespoke lending across BTL and bridging is vital to our success.

“His appointment is testament to our commitment to the market; continuing to build relationships and deliver our service proposition into the hands of brokers that need our support.”

This follows a series of hires and promotions that HTB made this year to support its growth targets, including the recent appointment of Louisa Sedgwick as deputy managing director of the specialist mortgages division.

KFS Recruitment

KFS Recruitment has appointed Adam Massie as a senior recruiter.

In his new role, he will be supporting Kerry Stephens, director at KFS, with managing the firm’s relationships with bridging, development and mortgage companies across the UK.

Adam joins the firm from City & Capital Group, where he worked as a senior headhunter.

By adding a further member to its team, KFS aims to speed up the delivery of suitable candidates to lenders and brokers.

Commenting on Adam’s appointment, Kerry said: “We have been continuing to service a large slice of the bridging and commercial sector since we launched in January 2016.

“Adam is dynamic and ambitious and choosing him as a member of our team came easily, as he already has a passion for the job we do and he is looking to make a difference to candidates lives, by finding them long-term positions with the right prospects, remuneration and culture.

“We spoke with many people in the industry and it was clear that Adam has earned himself a reputation as someone who recruits with the very best of intentions.

“We are thrilled to have him join our friendly team and we look forward to watching him thrive as part of the KFS story.”
