Folk2Folk is set to launch a new platform after doubling its lending volume last year.

The West Country peer-to-peer lender, which was founded in 2013, has introduced over £80m worth of funding to small businesses in a number of industries including land and property acquisition.

It has also trebled the size of its workforce since this time last year.

Folk2Folk is now planning to expand across the UK with the launch of the new platform to improve the funding application process.

Jane Dumeresque, Chief Executive at Folk2Folk, said: “This has been an excellent year for Folk2Folk and we’re very pleased to have been able to provide funding for so many small businesses.

“The progress we have seen in 2015 serves as a launch pad for an even more successful 2016 and we’re excited for the year ahead.”

Last year Folk2Folk saw an increase in the number of existing investors returning to invest further funds, with around 75% of its customers becoming repeat customers.
