Amicus Finance reshuffles board

Keith Aldridge, founder and managing director of Amicus Property Finance, has stepped down from the Amicus Finance board amid the appointment of four non-executive directors.

Keith’s decision will enable him to focus on the continued success of Amicus Property Finance following a period of major growth which saw the Amicus group hit the £1bn of property lending milestone in November 2016.

The appointment of David Fisher, Alex Shapland, Paul Stevens and Sally Vetch comes ahead of an expected banking licence approval, which is likely to be received later this year.

Keith said: “We’ve seen tremendous growth over the last few years as our localised relationship-based approach resonates well with fast-growing SMEs looking for specialist lending.

“Strengthening the board allows me to spend more time doing what I enjoy most: delivering the best for our customers and being proactively involved with our partners and stakeholders.

“Nothing really changes as far as I’m concerned day to day; my priority and focus is leading and developing the property finance business as I’ve always done.”

Keith will now spend more time with the leadership team in London, as well as supporting divisional directors Yasin Patel and Shoaib Bux via the company’s new Manchester office.

In addition to the board changes, Amicus has recruited a number of senior industry leaders across the group’s property finance, asset finance and commercial finance businesses.

The group’s overall headcount is now 150.

John Jenkins, CEO at Amicus, added: “Our continued growth and success is almost entirely down to the extraordinary talent we have within the business.

“As such, I’m very happy that due to the strengthening of our board of directors, Keith Aldridge is able to focus primarily on leading and developing the property finance business.

“Amicus remains hopeful of receiving its banking licence in 2017, which will enable it to fulfil its long-term growth objectives by accessing an alternative and efficient source of funding.”
