Aldermore has announced that its group managing director of mortgages will be leaving the company.

The challenger bank revealed that Charles Haresnape will be leaving to join Sharia-compliant investment bank Gatehouse Bank as its new CEO.

The former director of mortgage sales at Royal Bank of Scotland joined Aldermore in January 2011 and has been responsible for developing the bank’s residential mortgage lending.

Charles was promoted to group managing director of mortgages in July 2015 after previously holding the position of managing director of mortgages and commercial lending.

A spokesperson for Aldermore said: “Charles has been instrumental to the growth of our strong and profitable mortgages business and we wish him all the best for the future.

“Charles will remain in the business while we search for his replacement, a process we have already begun.”
