Roma strengthens bridging team after record months

Roma Finance has strengthened its bridging underwriting team amid a surge in new business.

Daniel Hill (pictured above) and Lorraine Hart have been promoted from lending managers to bridging sales specialist and senior underwriter respectively, while a number of other staff also secured improved roles.

The move follows record months for new bridging business, valuation fees and funding at Roma, culminating in its largest ever bridging loan of £755,000 in February.

Daniel said: “This is an exciting time for Roma Finance and in my new role I will take on greater underwriting and case review responsibilities to help our introducers and their customers on a wide variety of applications as the property and bridging finance markets continue to develop.

“I look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to existing and new introducers and helping the business reach its future growth targets.”

In addition to Daniel and Lorraine, Tina Parry and Jenny Gillies have taken up positions as underwriter and underwriting assistant respectively, having previously served as office manager and office administrator.

This period of growth comes on the back of a significant RBS funding line in July 2016.

Scott Marshall, manging director at Roma, added: “The funding from RBS gave a massive boost to business levels.

“The time is right for Dan’s promotion and the development of other underwriting staff in the company to take on more responsibility as business levels continue to rise.

“It’s imperative we maintain our renowned high-quality service levels and these staff promotions will provide for this along with the capacity to cope with increasing demand.”
