Lendy almost doubles investors

Peer-to-peer platform Lendy has revealed that it has almost doubled its number of investors over the past 12 months.

Lendy has grown its investor numbers from 9,000 in June 2016 to close to 16,500 to date.

The platform has also grown its lending from £150m to £323m over the past year, having added nearly £80m since the start of 2017 and £170m since June 2016.

Lendy has also paid out £25m in interest to date.

“During this time, we have grown our broker network and developed our product to better meet the needs of our brokers and their clients,” said Paul Riddell, head of marketing and communications at Lendy.

“It has been a year of rapid, but sustainable, growth for us; we have grown in every respect, from staff numbers through to the amount lent.

“Our simple and straightforward model allows us to offer borrowers and their agents quick decisions on their loans.”

Lendy has also invested in its marketing and support for a number of industry events this year, including signing contracts as title sponsor of the world-famous sailing event Lendy Cowes Week, as announced last week.

Earlier this month, Lendy launched a new referral scheme for its platform users, where existing investors can now receive 5% of individual interest earned from every registration made via their unique member URL.

Last week, Lendy was highly commended in the Alternative Lender of the Year category at the 2017 Bridging & Commercial Awards.
