A former Premier League football star, who once played for Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers, has unveiled his latest property venture; seven plots of land with planning permission for a buyer designed kit house.
Behind the development is William Thomas Estate Agents, managed by director Warren Haworth and ex-footballer Garry Flitcroft.
The plots are being marketed at £350,000 and are situated on the moorland of Chapeltown in the Blackburn region.
Once acquired, buyers will be able to order a custom built Huf Haus (kit house) from Germany that will take nine months to complete. Buyers can choose the exact specifications of their eco-friendly home – from the number of bedrooms to its layout.
Prices for a Huf Haus begin at £400,000 but vary substantially depending on the client’s specifications. They have been praised for their eco-friendly credentials and were championed by Channel 4’s Grand Designs programme. There are over 150 already built across the UK.
Commenting on the type of buyer the development is likely to attract, Warren Hayworth of William Thomas Estate Agents said: “We’re expecting interest from higher net worth individuals who appreciate the development’s eco credentials. The Huf Haus isn’t a traditional property, its unique design allows a great degree of natural light into the home, and its basis is to merge the outside with the inside.
“We are expecting a range of people to show interest, from young families to older professionals looking to downsize – the beauty being you can choose how large you want your house to be”
Speaking to local paper, The Bolton News, Garry Flitcroft said: “I first saw a picture of the
in a magazine and I liked the look of them so flew down to see the show home, which was just fantastic.
“Huf Haus have never done a development like this so I am pleased that it is going to be in the North West, and I have to thank Blackburn with Darwen Council because they were a different class.
“I have dropped a few brochures off with the players at Bolton
and at Blackburn Rovers and I’ll be dropping some off at Manchester City as well.
“It is a very exclusive development and once you are inside one it is even more spectacular.”
Mr Haworth described the development as ‘unique’, highlighting that Hauf Haus has never carried out a complete development like the one planned. He said: “This is something quite unique for the UK.
“Huf Haus have done one off builds before and a few town houses in London but not a complete development like this.
“The properties have only been on the market for a couple of weeks but we have had a lot of interest, not only locally but from further afield as well.”
