ASTL reveals full conference line up

The Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL) has announced the full line up for its upcoming conference.

The ‘Brexit and Bridging’ conference takes place on 14th September at Painters’ Hall in the City of London and will look at the current environment for short-term lending and bridging.

It will discuss what attendees can do to ensure that their businesses are prepared for the range of political challenges they could face.

Rob Lankey, former CEO of the NACFB and ex-managing director of commercial mortgages at Aldermore, will be speaking alongside Michael Booth, barrister at New Square Chambers.

Rob will be providing insight into the lender/broker relationship and how to achieve the perfect recipe, while Michael will be exploring the dangers of fraud in the industry.

The pair will join keynote speaker Tim Shipman, Sunday Times political editor.

Attendees will also hear from:

  • Lorna O’Brien, technical specialist at the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Peter Andrews, agent for Greater London at the Bank of England
  • Faisal Choudhry, a UK property analyst at Savills.

“The bridging industry is going through a period of success and growth, but that does not mean that we can afford to ignore the range of challenges that the current economic and political environment are presenting,” said Benson Hersch, chief executive of the ASTL (pictured above).

“This line up of speakers will provide attendees with an unrivalled selection of experience, insight and analysis from across the regulatory, legal and political landscape to tackle these challenges.”

The conference begins at 8.45am and runs until 3.30pm.
