Zopa partners with Saffron Building Society

Peer-to-peer lender Zopa has teamed up with Saffron Building Society to help more consumers gain access to flexible personal loans.

The new partnership will allow customers to apply for Zopa loans at any of the building society’s 11 branches across Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk as well as via Saffron’s website.

Jaidev Janardana, CEO at Zopa (pictured above), said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Saffron Building Society and bringing our simple, flexible and better-value loans to even more people in the UK.

“The partnership is exciting for us as it brings together two customer-led businesses, as we continue on our mission of making money simple and fair for customers.”

Colin Field, CEO of Saffron Building Society, added: “As a member-focused mutual building society, we are always considering different ways to offer members and customers complementary services that enable them to do more with their money.

“The partnership with Zopa is an exciting addition to our financial planning product range and we are delighted to be working with such a progressive customer-focused business that offers real value to customers combined with a best-in-class customer experience.”

Earlier this week, Zopa announced the launch of its new credit risk scorecard, which assesses the credit risk of borrowers applying for loans.

Zopa also revealed it was aiming to attract lower-risk customers after moving away from higher-risk lending.
