Scottish economy grows 0.2%




The Scottish economy increased by 0.2% in Q3 2017, according to new data.

Figures from Scotland’s chief statistician revealed that the latest GDP release showed an increase of 0.2% in Q3 in real terms compared with the previous quarter.

There was also an increase of 0.6% compared with Q3 2016.


Output in the services sector grew by 0.2% in Q3 2017, while output in production increased by 1.2%.

However, output in the construction sector decreased by 2.9% while the GDP per person in Scotland remained the same as the previous quarter.
