Aldermore names new commercial director

Aldermore has announced the appointment of John Carter (pictured above) as commercial director within its commercial real estate team.

He joins the specialist bank from Clydesdale Bank, where he was responsible for its commercial real estate proposition.

John – who has 30 years of experience – has also held roles at National Australia Bank, Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland and ING.

At Aldermore, he will manage the commercial mortgages and property development teams as well as being responsible for developing new propositions and enhancing the customer journey as the lender looks to meet growing demand.

John will report to Carl D’Ammassa, group managing director of business finance at Aldermore, who said it was great to have someone of John’s experience join the team.

“We have ambitious plans as we seek to gain a greater share of this market by supporting more businesses through introducing new products and services.

“I look forward to working with John as he transforms the way we operate.”

Earlier this year, Aldermore increased its maximum property development loan size to £25m and launched a new seven-year fixed commercial mortgage rate as it looked to strengthen its position in the market.

“It is great to see Aldermore challenging the market by introducing new rates and increasing loan limits,” said John.

“I’m impressed with the work that has been done by the team so far and look forward to working with everyone to develop new propositions that will continue to meet the needs of customers who are looking for competitive deals and the best possible service.”
