NorthEdge Capital closes £120m SME fund

NorthEdge Capital has announced the closure of its £120m SME fund.

NorthEdge Capital SME Fund I will enable the private equity firm to invest in the North of England and Midlands SME market.

The firm will invest between £2m-10m in growth and development capital, management buyouts, equity release and buy-and-build opportunities.

This is NorthEdge’s third fund after its £225m maiden fund in 2013 and Fund II in 2016.

Grant Berry, managing partner at NorthEdge Capital (pictured above), said: “This fund reflects our commitment to backing successful regional businesses and builds on our existing heritage while giving us much greater flexibility in terms of the businesses we are able to support.

“We look forward to capitalising on the new opportunities afforded to us through this fund and are excited to work with SMEs to generate value for our investors.”
