ThinCats supports Soho restaurant acquisition

ThinCats has supported Wright & Bell, the bar and restaurant group's acquisition of Whyte & Brown, the Kingly Court bar-restaurant.

The two-storey restaurant – located just off Carnaby Street in London – was originally launched in 2013 and has since traded strongly in Kingly Court.

The bar and restaurant group plans to evolve the site while pursuing further new sites in central London.

ThinCats worked closely with Wright & Bell and its parent owner, Imbiba, before providing the funding to complete the transaction.

The loan was used to support the acquisition and source additional working capital to continue the group’s growth.

Simon Wheeler, CFO at Imbiba, said that ThinCats was an obvious partner for them.

“They are one of the leading alternative finance providers for growing and ambitious SMEs and they really understand the sector.”

Dave Sherrington, business originator for London and the South East at ThinCats, added: “We were impressed by Imbiba and look forward to working with them on this project.

“They have unparalleled sector experience, a strong track record in the market and an investment team that genuinely understands leisure businesses.”
