A Manchester-based specialist lender brought some Christmas cheer to poorly children in December, as employees collected, wrapped and hand delivered toys to the kids at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on 20th December.
Blemain Group said that the Christmas donation was part of a wide range of charity initiatives, as the bridging lender raises more than £10,000 a year for good causes. In the past they have also raised money for Children in Need through sponsored charity runs.
Commenting on the group’s charitable giving, Irene Thomas, Head of Commercial Underwriting at Blemain Group, said: “It can be difficult for children in hospital to get the most out of the festive season. We hope we have helped to bring a little hope into their lives this year – it was incredibly moving to see the smiles on their faces.
“There’s no better time than Christmas to give something back and help those less fortunate than ourselves. We were keen to support a local cause, and, for us, the fantastic work of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital made it the obvious choice.”
According to staff at the Hospital the children were very pleased with their festive treats.
Jenny Clarke, corporate and individual fundraising manager at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for children in hospital who have to be away from home, so we’re always so grateful for the generosity of local businesses. I know Blemain Group’s gifts will be hugely appreciated by the children and their families, and would like to thank them for giving their time and donating their presents this festive season.”
