Development lender reinstates position in market

.

A development lender has begun accepting new applications again after having been inundated by applications last year.

The Hampshire based private lender, Hampshire Trust, have confirmed that after “a brief pause to catch up”, they are again taking new applications.

Simon Atherton, Associate Director at Property Lending, explained that thanks to the great support of its brokers and the strength of its product offering, the bank had been inundated with applications towards the end of 2010.

Simon said: “Following a very successful 2010 and a very busy start to 2011 it was right that we focussed our efforts on prioritising our existing pipeline. I would like to apologise to those brokers who tried to place new business with us during this period.  Having managed that pipeline we are now very much looking for new business.”

To ensure that its customary levels of service were maintained the bank claims to have taken a break, to concentrate on progressing outstanding applications before accepting further new business.

“I am conscious, however, that we are a small team and to ensure that we maintain the high service standards that we pride ourselves on, we will be concentrating on deals in the Southern half of England for the time being,” he added.

“I am grateful for the support we have received from brokers and am looking forward once again to receiving good quality enquiries from the intermediary market.”
