Roy — who was previously head of risk and loan portfolio at the P2P lending platform — has more than 37 years of experience in senior roles, including positions at Hill Samuel and RBS.
He also brings experience in corporate banking, asset finance, origination, risk and portfolio management.
Alex Daly, chief financial officer at Parnall Group, and Graham Dingle — who has 50 years of small business experience — have been appointed to the board as non-executive directors.

Meanwhile both Justin Abbott Chalew, CTO/CIO at Elcom International, and Megan McCracken, strategy executive at Fidelity International, have been named as independent non-executive directors, pending FCA approval.
