He will start his new position later this year and report to Alex Upton, who will become commercial director of the specialist mortgages division.
Marcus will join HTB from Castle Trust, where he was sales director.
Charles McDowell, managing director of specialist mortgages at HTB, said he was thrilled to have Marcus join the team.

Barry Searle, managing director of mortgages at Castle Trust, confirmed to Bridging & Commercial that Marcus had left Castle Trust.
“He has contributed a lot to the business during his time here and we would like to thank him for all of his hard work,” he added.
“In the meantime, this presents an opportunity for someone new to step into the sales director role and take Castle Trust on the next stage of our journey to becoming a bank."
