UTB expands Nivo facial recognition service to bridging to speed up application process

United Trust Bank (UTB) has extended the use of its electronic facial recognition ID verification service to bridging customers.

Clients borrowing £1m or less can use the Nivo app to complete their identification verification in just 90 seconds.

The ID is verified by using facial recognition AI to compare an applicant to their nominated document (such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID card).

The system was introduced by UTB in September 2019 for mortgage customers.

Gavin Diamond, commercial director of bridging at United Trust Bank (pictured above), said: “The introduction of the Nivo ID verification service for qualifying bridging loans will certainly make the application process quicker and easier for customers and their brokers.”

He added that United Trust Bank enjoyed working with leading technology providers to improve efficiency and was confident the solution would enhance the process for all parties.

“At UTB, we are keen to introduce innovative fintech solutions where they help to streamline and simplify customer and broker journeys.

“This enables us to devote more time to delivering a personal service and add value through our individual underwriting.”

UTB has a well-established relationship with Nivo, which also provides a wide range of fintech services such as e-signatures, secure messaging and Open Banking.
