It provides expertise across a range of financial solutions, including bridging, commercial, residential business, development and mezzanine finance.
Wharf Financial is led by managing director Marc Champ (pictured above), who recently left Bespoke Business Finance to start the new company.
He has over 15 years of experience in the corporate banking industry, having held roles at NatWest, Lloyds Banking Group and Shawbrook Bank.
“My experience of working within different banks has helped me to develop my skills and alternative ways of tackling funding requests,” said Marc in an exclusive interview with Bridging & Commercial.
“The reality is that broking has been around for a long time.

“I can't reinvent the wheel, but what I can do is put my all into it and do the best I can.”
With regard to the company, Marc stated that “the first year is critical to my reputation in the industry”.
“[Previously], I have always been supported by a brand, but Wharf Financial is me.
“I will put everything I have into it and as long as my customers are happy, then I am happy.”
Marc added that his decision to move from lending to broking was based on “human interaction”, with lenders becoming less likely to speak face to face with customers as they continue to put a greater focus on the use of “technological submissions”.
In terms of the broker’s use of technology, Marc also revealed that Wharf Financial was currently working with Prasanna Kannan, co-founder of Native Finance, “who has developed a very interesting piece of kit which will benefit brokers and customers alike”.
