He joins the bridging and development finance lender from brokerage The Loan Market, where he was managing director.
Simon has over 21 years of experience working as a broker, predominantly in the bridging market, after initially starting his career at lender First National Bank, before running brokerage Flexi Loans and Mortgages.

Prior to The Loan Market, Simon was managing director at Only Bridging, before joining Finance 4 Business.
In an exclusive interview with B&C, Simon said he decided to take up the role at PropFin — where he will be working alongside its chief sales officer, Mike Jones — as the offer was “too good” to turn down.
“I was honestly thinking about creating a bigger brokerage,” he divulged, “because I’ve probably got about 10-15 years left to make my mark.”
However, after hearing about the “exciting plans” that PropFin has, and when they offered him the role, he said: “I had to sit back and think, ‘What do I do?’”
“Do I create another monster brokerage in this climate? That’s going to be tough.
“To work with the support team at PropFin and someone like Mike . . . and to have someone there when things are difficult — which it is going to be for the next six months — we’re going to be a really strong team.”
He plans to add value to PropFin by utilising his deep relationships in the specialist finance market and extend the lender’s distribution with some of the major packagers in the market.
Commenting on Simon’s appointment, Mike said: “There are plenty of good salespeople within our industry that have the ability to open doors, but [more importantly], it’s the ability to open the right doors to get through to the right people.
“For me, Simon’s [the] right fit.”
With Simon joining the team, Propfin is looking to grow its activity in the bridging market, particularly in the last quarter of this year.
