The first interactive event will be held on 28th January at 11am and will be hosted by Medianett’s managing director, Caron Schreuder.
Ortus Secured Finance head of sales Richard King, managing director Jon Salisbury, and director in Scotland Colin Anderson will participate in a what is set to be a lively discussion with four broker panellists — Jo Sutton, managing director at Empire Finance; Darren Willoughby, director at 2XL Commercial Finance; Michael Cass, head of secured and structured finance at Capitalise.com; and Brian Love, head of regional broking at Newable.
The topic is ‘Specialist property exit strategies’, which will cover the current landscape and availability of term products, and how brokers and lenders can best prepare for the unexpected.
Registration is open and it is free to attend for all professionals working in the sector.
The panel will be taking questions during the session and attendees are encouraged to get involved.
Commenting on the event, Darren said: “I am delighted to be able to contribute to the roundtable amongst some of the leading lights within the industry.
- B&C roundtable: Is the second charge bridging market growing?
- B&C roundtable: Is the second charge bridging market growing?
- B&C roundtable: Are hybrid offerings an opportunity or necessity?
“It is vital that people consult the ‘impartial coalface’, which is the broker community, as there is a consistent line coming from most banks that they are ‘open for business’, when the reality, from what we are seeing at 2XL Commercial, is that, in a lot of cases, they are not.
“This is having a huge impact on not only our industry, but also the many businesses that rely on banks and funding to survive.”
Jo added: “I am really looking forward to being involved with this roundtable event – the current climate is certainly very unusual.
“The appetite and criteria of traditional term lenders has understandably been significantly affected by the pandemic, which in turn means it can be challenging for current bridging borrowers to source a viable exit.
“Typical barriers with term lenders include reluctance to fund certain sectors and a tightening of LTVs.
"This roundtable will be a good opportunity to explore possible options for clients in this situation."
Richard commented: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this event, and are really looking forward to exploring what it available in the term market right now.
“Viable long-term funding options are vital for lenders, borrowers and brokers alike, and it will be really interesting to delve behind published criteria to find out what’s really available.”
The event will also be available to watch after 28th January on Bridging & Commercial.
