Aspen appoints head of sales

Aspen Bridging has appointed Ian Miller-Hawes (pictured above) to the newly created head of sales role.

Ian will be responsible for driving the lender’s relationships with introducers throughout the country, raising the profile of its products and service standards, as well as assisting with deals and offering training on the bridging market.

He joins Aspen from MFS, where he was also head of sales.

Prior to that, he worked for Castle Trust and Fleet Mortgages in senior BDM roles.

Jack Coombs, director at Aspen Bridging, said: “We are delighted to have Ian join the team and are certain he will be key to helping introducers understand our offering and building the type of strong relationships on which the business is founded.”

Ian added: “Building key broker relationships from ‘one-man-bands’ to packagers to international offices, and being responsive to each of their needs, is key to achieving our ambitious lending targets.

“Having just revamped our rate card with the introduction of lower interest rates and the launch of our new light development and rapid desktop valuation products, coupled with our best-in-class service, we are in a fantastic position to enhance our status in 2021.”

To meet demand, the bridging lender has also strengthened its underwriting and IT functions by hiring Laura Randall as underwriter and Jonathan Caddy as a senior software developer.

Laura is the latest recruit to enter through the lender’s graduate training programme, having attained a BSc in Psychology from Aston University, followed by six years with Warwickshire Police.

Jonathan, who has over 20 years of experience as a software engineer, will be responsible for augmenting the existing broker portal with a remit to streamline all application processes to make them as quick, interactive and simplistic as possible.
