In this role, David will help expand BloomSmith’s impact and reach across real estate and the construction sector, as well as contribute to its ongoing business strategy.
He has over 37 years in banking, having started his career at NatWest.
David has since held numerous positions, including head of the commercial real estate portfolio at Nationwide, where he originated and led teams that delivered a significant sum of new lending, predominantly in the UK, in addition to Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland and France.
He also worked for Lloyds Bank as head of London and the South East in the bank’s global corporate real estate team.

David subsequently joined CR Asset Management where he helped drive forward the business by developing a team, debt products and origination capability.
This included creating a relationship between CR and Tunstall, which David then joined as head of debt strategies in mid-2018.
He worked in this position until August 2020.
Currently, David works as a consultant for M7 Capital.
Commenting on his appointment, David said: “I am delighted to have taken this role with BloomSmith, having worked with the owners for many years.
“I will be advising on how they can grow the reach of the business and strategic advice as required and am excited to be involved in this growing business. “
In a joint comment, BloomSmith’s directors, Neil Petty and Kate Ashton, said they were looking forward to working with David and were confident that his expertise will add to the growing range of the company’s portfolio of products.
