Alternative Bridging Corporation and SDKA grow teams

Alternative Bridging Corporation and SDKA have announced new appointments to their teams.

Alternative Bridging Corporation

Alternative Bridging Corporation has appointed Richard Claypole (pictured above) as head of underwriting.

In his new role, he will lead the lender’s underwriting team.

Richard has over 30 years of experience in commercial banking, bridging and development finance underwriting and credit risk, having held roles at NatWest, Oblix Capital and, most recently, United Trust Bank.

Alternative Bridging Corporation has also appointed Rinal Rodrigues to lead the marketing team.

Rinal has over 20 years of marketing experience across online and offline channels and will help to deliver increased activity as Alternative Bridging Corporation broadens its distribution and grows its lending.

Jonathan Rubins, director at Alternative Bridging Corporation, said: “With his strong experience and expertise in bridging, development and commercial finance, Richard will play an important role in helping us to further enhance the excellent service we provide to our intermediaries.

“Rinal has a wealth of experience in marketing to help us communicate our offering to a wider group of intermediaries.

“At Alternative Bridging Corporation, we take an innovative approach to providing customers alternative finance solutions, such as our development 90 product, which enables experienced developers to achieve greater leverage on smaller schemes, or the Alternative overdraft, which provides a flexible loan facility where borrowers can draw, repay or reduce funds to match their needs.

“We are able to deliver ground-breaking products like these because we have such a strong team in place.”

SDKA has appointed Scot Tsang as head of operations and in-house legal.

He will take up his new position on 1st April and will be responsible for all lending operations at SDKA.

He has over 12 years of experience in property law and secured lending, and will join the lender from London-based law firm Spector Constant & Williams, where he was a partner and director.

Scot said: “Having worked with SDKA for a number of years in private practice and seeing them grow from strength to strength, I was delighted to be asked to join the team in-house; it was an easy decision to make.

“I’m excited to be part of the next phase of growth and to join the high calibre team.

“SDKA is an impressive and dynamic business, and the future looks very bright.”

Kunal Mehta, managing director at SDKA, added: “We have truly raised the bar this past year and I am absolutely thrilled that Scot has joined the team.

“Our clients and broker partners have first-hand experience of the quality with which Scot operates and of his pragmatic and commercial approach to lending.

“Scot is not only highly respected by our clients and broker partners, but his dynamism and integrity ties in perfectly with the core value of our business to provide exceptional service.”

The hire follows the lender securing a multi-million-pound funding boost from Shawbrook Bank in October to accelerate its growth plans.
