Time Finance and DM Hall bolster teams

Time Finance and DM Hall have announced new appointments.

Time Finance

Time Finance has recruited Sharon Bryden as director of commercial loans and asset-based lending, with immediate effect.

In the newly created role, Sharon will have overall responsibility for the operation and performance of commercial loans for the business and will also lead the firm's plans to develop and deliver a robust asset-based lending solution to the market.

Sharon, who has two decades of experience across multiple funding solutions, from loans to invoice finance, joins the company from Reparo Finance, where she worked as operations director.

Prior to that, she held operational and relationship management positions at Aldermore Bank and Bibby Financial Services.

Commenting on her appointment, Sharon said: "I am delighted to have joined Time Finance at such an exciting time.

“It has a genuine commitment to delivering robust funding solutions to UK businesses to inspire confidence and growth.

“While commercial loans have been part of their portfolio since its inception over two decades ago, there is a renewed ambition to enhance and drive forward this important part of the business.

“With exciting plans to further develop our multi-product offering, I am looking forward to playing an instrumental role in delivering market leading funding solutions to our clients.

“The team at Time Finance are dynamic and progressive and have a reputation for getting things done, so I have every confidence that it’s going to be a busy and successful time.”

Ed Rimmer, CEO at Time Finance, added: "We are delighted to have secured Sharon as a member of our leadership team in what is a key role for our business as we drive forward with our strategy and plans to strengthen our funding proposition.

“She is a well-respected and proven professional with an exceptional record and was a natural choice for this role.

“Having worked with Sharon in the past, I have no doubt that she will significantly strengthen our team.”

DM Hall

DM Hall has promoted Calum Allmond to head of architectural services.

Calum, an associate of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technology, joined the company in 2017 as an assistant architectural technician and has substantial experience in dealing with property issues that can arise from Land Registry and alteration documentation.

“Incomplete titles to property are far from uncommon, perhaps because of the absence of planning permission or a building warrant, and the main thrust of our work at DM Hall is to assist clients to identify potentially tricky issues and then resolve them,” said Calum.

“The resolution part can often be complicated, and there is no way of getting around that other than by working through diligent, informed processing, and it may be, ultimately, only by rectifying a title and/or obtaining alteration documentation that a property sale can proceed.”

According to Calum, issues concerning property boundaries have increased significantly, partly due to the Covid-19 lockdown, with people having more time to spend thinking about their property and looking at their grounds.

“Lots of people have been upsizing or downsizing, and alterations to properties need to be formalised, or building warrants obtained — so we are busy,” he added.

“The first half of 2021 has been the most active I have experienced, with many more enquiries for garage conversions and small extensions.

“Financially, too, we are growing following our recent overhaul of the suite of services we can provide and a more robust fee structure that makes it easier for clients to anticipate the cost of our input.”

John McHugh, managing partner at DM Hall, commented: “We are delighted by the progress made by Calum and his team in resolving client property title issues and foresee further strong growth in this sector.”
