UTB
UTB has appointed Gavin Mancey and Daniel Idowu as underwriters for its asset finance credit team.
Gavin, who has nearly 20 years of experience in asset finance credit and risk analysis, joins the lender from Hitachi Capital, where he was a senior credit analyst.
Prior to this, he was a senior underwriter at Banque PSA Finance.
Meanwhile, Daniel has been promoted to his new role, having joined UTB’s operations team in 2018 after competing his masters degree in business and management.
Both Gavin and Daniel will report to Peter Price, senior underwriter for asset finance at UTB.
Commenting on the new appointments, Peter said: “Gavin is exactly the sort of underwriter we like at UTB; he enjoys talking directly to brokers, working with them on proposals and helping them to get quick decisions for their customers.
“He’s an excellent addition to the team and will play a key role in helping us achieve our exciting, but challenging growth ambitions.
“Daniel has learned a lot about the asset finance business in the operations team and I’m delighted to have this opportunity to promote him to a new position in credit where he’ll be able to build on his knowledge and further develop his skills.
“He won’t find a better team of credit professionals to work with and learn from.”
Earlier this year, UTB announced its intention to attract larger deals of up to £2m and grow its higher value car business, which saw the lender’s business volumes increase substantially.

Following an increase in business volume after the announcement, UTB has subsequently developed its asset finance sales, operations and credit teams to ensure it can meet increasing demand and maintain its high levels of broker service.
Hodge
Hodge has appointed Andrea Roberts as its national account manager for the North.
In her new role, she will work closely with the company’s key distribution partners, club and networks to grow the lenders’ market share in the area.
She will also work with IFAs and brokers to introduce them to different later life products that they may not have accessed before, enabling them to find the right financial solution for their clients.
Andrea, who has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, joins Hodge from Principality Building Society, where she worked for 10 years in various roles, most recently as a key account manager.
“This is a great time to join Hodge as its growth plans are very ambitious and so I can’t wait to get stuck in,” said Andrea.
“It is great to be back working with key distribution partners and brokers in the North again, and I am looking forward to helping them find the perfect solution for their clients.
“The 50 plus and holiday let mortgage market is moving at pace, so it is an exciting time to be joining the Hodge team.”
Emma Graham, business development director at Hodge, added: “Having someone with Andrea’s breadth of experience and knowledge will perfectly complement our expansion plans.
“She is a key appointment and I look forward to seeing the inroads she makes with our clubs, networks and brokers in the north.
“With Andrea on board and an expanding BDM team, we are confident that we can deliver what our intermediary partners need.”
