Sam has been working for the brokerage, based in Cardiff, for almost four years, having joined Clifton in 2017 as a senior finance broker.
In his new role, he will oversee the day-to-day running of the bridging finance team, as well as help the business to develop tailored client services covering specialist areas within the short-term finance market.
In addition, he aims to grow the Clifton’s adviser base through its recently established graduate program, something he believes has great potential for the overall market.
“We have seen a real focus on young talent within the sector and I hope this continues,” said Sam.

“More and more people we speak to are looking into graduate talent and, needless to say, I think this carries unlimited opportunity for new ideas, fresh thinking and an industry that moves with the times.”
When asked about his main targets and ambitions for Clifton’s bridging business for the rest of this year and into 2022, Sam said he is looking to continue the company’s success and maintain the high levels of service, as well as double the size of the Cardiff-based bridging team by the end of the year.
“I would love to tell you to touch base with me next year when we will have taken over the world, but our ethos has always been steady and consistent growth,” he stated.
“While we have our own internal targets for growth, we also realise that there are many variables, so you need to be dynamic and adapt your expectations from time to time.
“Sometimes things will go better than expected, sometimes they won’t go as well, but as long as we are all facing the same direction and driving forward to achieve the best outcomes at all times, I will be happy.
“Our next stage of growth will be building on the solid foundations we have in place, investing in those who have contributed the most to our growth to date, and cementing our brand as a key player in the specialist lending space.”
