Synergy Commercial Finance and SFC announce promotions

Synergy Commercial Finance and Specialist Finance Centre (SFC) have made several promotions across their teams.

Synergy Commercial Finance

Synergy Commercial Finance — part of AFS Group — has promoted Piotr Twaits to managing director with immediate effect.

Piotr has been working at the company for over six years, having joined in 2015 as sales director.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s performance and for delivering the budget expectations set by AFS Group.

He will also continue working on strengthening the brand reputation and position within the market and deepening relationships with lenders and introducers.

He will be assisted by a new sales director, who will be announced shortly.

“Six years have flown by since joining this dynamic and entrepreneurial group,” said Piotr.

“AFS Group has gone from strength to strength in this time and I am proud to have played my part with Synergy Commercial Finance.

“I am delighted with what our team, brokers, lenders and introducers have achieved and how they have contributed to our success story.

“Winning B&C’s Best Commercial Broker award validated how far we have come in a relatively short time, and to be made managing director is just the icing on the cake!”

Nick Simpson, group MD at AFS Group, added: “We were all delighted with the recognition of Synergy’s success at the recent B&C Awards, where we scooped the much-coveted accolade of Best Commercial Broker.

“This is a true reflection of the diligence and skill that Piotr has injected into building the Synergy business since its inception.”

SFC

SFC has announced a staffing restructure and has promoted Julian Morris to bridging and BTL manager and Oliver Hembury to head of second-charge lending.

In his new role, Julian — formerly a specialist finance adviser at SFC — will be responsible for the firm’s further growth of the bridging and BTL business arm, which has seen rising levels throughout 2021.

Meanwhile, Oliver — also a former specialist finance adviser within the company — will be the key contact between SFC and its second-charge lending panel and will oversee a team of advisers.

Commenting on the promotion, Oliver said: “I’m over the moon to have been promoted to the role of head of second-charge lending.

“Dan [Yeo, founder and managing director at SFC] and I talked about this a while ago, but it needed to be done at the right time.

“Now is that time and I’m looking forward to taking on the extra responsibility and continuing the SFC journey.”

Dan added: “I’m extremely proud and impressed by the commitment of Ollie, who has been my right-hand man from inception.

“He fully deserves this promotion and I know his colleagues feel the same; he is a born leader and I’m really pleased he can work alongside me as part of the senior management team.

“In a short space of time, Julian has demonstrated a hunger to lead and to specialise in bridging and BTL.

“I’m very excited to develop him further in terms of leadership skills and make these departments an even more crucial component within SFC.

“SFC is nothing without the people within it; ultimately, we just want our introducers and their clients to have the best possible experience they can when using us and these promotions are made with that ethos firmly in mind.”
