Brightstar celebrates International Men's Day

The Brightstar Group has announced a week of activities across its businesses to celebrate International Men’s Day.

The group will focus on increasing awareness about men’s mental health and raising funds for its adopted charity, SANE, as well as highlighting the achievements and contributions of the men across the business.

At its Sirius London office, the week of activities will include a speech from a SANE guest speaker, who will talk about men’s mental health and the issues faced throughout 2021, as well as an international-themed ‘bring and buy’ lunch to reflect the diversity of the team and provide an opportunity for colleagues to make, contribute and try a variety of cuisines.

Team members will also have the chance to raise money for the charity in an International Men’s Day darts challenge.

Meanwhile, Brightstar Financial will hold a breakfast workshop which will focus on men’s mental health and reflect upon the findings in a recent staff survey about the issues and challenges that men face in 2021.

Rob Jupp, group CEO at The Brightstar Group (pictured above), said: “We are committed to celebrating the contributions and achievements of the men and women in our businesses and it is important for us to mark both International Men’s Day and International Women’s Day on an annual basis.

“It is of deep concern to me that suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 years old and it’s crucial that mental health issues remain firmly on the agenda for the sector to address and keep talking about.”

Throughout the year, Brightstar Group has implemented a range of initiatives to support its staff’s the mental health and wellbeing, including the introduction of nine mental health first aiders.

It is also one of the founder signatories of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter
