Synergy Commercial Finance and Connect hire new directors

Synergy Commercial Finance and Connect have welcomed new directors to their teams.

Synergy Commercial Finance

Synergy Commercial Finance has appointed Wendy Twaits as its new sales director.

Her main duties will be leading the internal team and working with franchisees, brokers, lenders and introducers, as well as supporting the managing director, Piotr Twaits, with the strategy and its implementation to further grow the business.

Wendy has spend over 20 years working in the industry, predominantly in commercial and corporate banking, and joins Synergy from Lloyds Bank, where she most recently worked as an area business manager.

“It’s been six years since Synergy’s inception and they have gone from strength to strength recently, so I am over the moon to be joining such a successful team,” said Wendy.

Nick Simpson, group MD at AFS Group, commented: “Wendy brings strong experience in managing clients, business development and working with introducers along with the leadership of teams, and we wish her success in her new role!”

Connect

Connect has appointed Jane Benjamin in the newly created role of director of mortgages for the entire brand, including its two arms, Connect for Intermediaries and Connect Mortgages.

Her recruitment comes as the mortgage network, packager and adviser company is gearing up to accelerate its growth in 2022 and beyond.

Jane has 20 years of experience working in the mortgage industry, having held roles at various companies throughout her career, including Sesame Bankhall Group, PMS Mortgage Club and, most recently, Mortgage Brain.

Commenting on her appointment, Jane said: “I am delighted to join the Connect team; the support and collaboration that it offers to all advisers is deep rooted and is something that I am passionate about.

“Connect is an inclusive business created for advisers, by an adviser, which is special.

“I am really looking forward to working together to bring innovation to the market and creating exciting opportunities for our adviser partners."

Liz Syms, CEO at Connect, added: "I believe our diverse and flexible proposition has meant we have been successful in growing our network of advisers, our consumer proposition and our packaging and distribution arms simultaneously, and we aim to continue to build on this success.

“Jane is a positive force in the industry and her addition to our leadership team will help us further enhance our service proposition and continue with our exciting growth plans.”
