Fleet Mortgages and BFS bolster teams

Fleet Mortgages and Bridging Finance Solutions (BFS) have announced new hires and promotions across their specialist finance teams.

Fleet Mortgages

Fleet Mortgages has made a series of changes and promotions within its senior management team.

The lender’s finance director Nicola Richardson, who has worked for the company since November 2014, has been promoted to chief financial officer.

She will be replacing Sunny Lo, who will be retiring in December this year after being part of the management team since Fleet’s launch.

Kim Beaven and Diane Mitchell have also been promoted to HR and facilities director, and credit director, respectively.

The lender has also announced it has now hit £2bn of assets under management for the first time.

Bob Young, senior executive officer at Fleet Mortgages, said: “Having worked with Sunny for over two decades, it’s somehow hard to believe he will be retiring next month, but he has been a huge part of what we’ve been able to achieve at Fleet, and the entire team here wish him a wonderful and long retirement.

“Part of working with such an excellent team is that you are able to reward and promote people without whom the organisation would simply not function in the same way.

“Nicola, Kim and Diane have effectively been with Fleet since our launch back in 2014 and to say they are brilliant at their jobs would be an understatement.

“We are fortunate to have them and I have no doubt they will continue to be huge assets to the business.

“Finally, just recently we hit the £2bn assets under management landmark – since launching, we have obviously lent significantly more than this, but it is the first time we have reached this figure.

“November is the first full month Fleet has originated business for our new funder, Starling Bank, and is looks likely it will be our record month for lending.

“The future therefore looks particularly bright for Fleet and we will have more to say and offer for the rest of the year and into 2022.”

BFS

BFS has appointed Sarah Cropper as an underwriter.

Sarah has over 30 years of experience working in the financial services sector, having held roles for various companies, including Hope Capital and, most recently, SDKA, where she was a loan operations manager.

“This is the perfect role for me, as I own a solid understanding of the life of a loan from enquiry to redemption and all the stages in between,” said Sarah.

“I aim to utilise my skills to support the planned growth strategy of BFS and expand and strengthen my own knowledge base.”

“I was aware of BFS from both an industry and local perspective and had heard very positive things around its relationships with brokers, developers and partners, as well as its outstanding knowledge and relationship building skills of the team.

“I look forward to learning more about the processes and internal systems that make the underwriting process run smoothly, while still maintaining that important personal approach.”

Rachel Davies, head of underwriting at BFS, added: “Sarah is the perfect person for this role; she has a vast amount of experience within our industry and I’m sure she will prove to be a huge asset as we expand and grow.”
