Footballing love-rat John Terry was forced to dish out £1.74 million to builders over three flats. A further two England players have also had to pay £1.2 million each.
John Terry, who plays for both Chelsea and England, put down a ten per cent deposit on three flats but was then accused in a High Court writ of failing to pay the balance.
Terry originally paid a £174,000 deposit - a meagre amount considering it barely adds up to a week’s wages for the football star - for the three luxury flats in a new London development.
But according to Galliard Homes, when the balance was due in April Terry allegedly refused to cough up the cash for the properties, which were priced at £660,000, £555,000, and £527,500.
However, last night the property company received its money in the High Court settlement.
Showing all footballers clearly think alike when it comes to investing their healthy wages, it also emerged that Galliard Homes sued fellow England stars Sol Campbell and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Campbell is thought to have settled, whereas the action against Wright-Phillips is on-going.
The pair purchased two flats in the converted printworks in Stockwell, South-West London. Their deals amounted to an eventual £1.2million each.
All three players were sued by Kilmorie Investments, a division of Galliard.
Galliard described the settlement as "very amicable" - adding: "There's no problem anymore."
