It will be EY’s fifth annual bridging survey and is designed to provide views and insights into market trends and key challenges the industry faces.
This year, there are additional questions around the profitability of businesses, the importance of ESG and DE&I strategies, and the use of electronic signatures for legal documents.
Nick Parkhouse, partner and head of EY’s financial services corporate finance practice, said: “We are delighted to return with the EY bridging survey for the fifth year in 2022, and equally as delighted to again be teaming up with Bridging & Commercial to publish the findings when the report comes out in April.
“The continual growth and institutionalisation of the bridging finance sector over the past five years has been incredible, and the sector has rightly attracted the attention of innovative and sizeable debt and equity capital.

“The EY survey was started to increase the transparency in the market to help facilitate exactly such a development and, as the sector continues to expand into new products and ways to finance itself, the sharing of what makes this sector tick has never been more important.”

Beth Fisher, publishing director at Medianett Publishing, commented: “Over the past 12 months, the UK bridging market has continued to evolve and adapt as we make our way out of the pandemic, and has seen a surge in annual gross lending.
“Away from the daily news of record loans, recruitment drives and changes in product criteria, the annual EY survey plays a big part in providing us with a better grasp of what the bridging landscape looks like as a whole.
“We are delighted to again team up with EY on this and publish the findings in the upcoming Bridging & Commercial Magazine.”
The survey, which closes on 4th March, will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses are confidential.
The findings will be first revealed in the March/April issue of Bridging & Commercial Magazine, which will be out mid-April. Ensure you subscribe for free to receive your copy.
Those who participate in the survey will receive a copy of the report from EY once published.
